Did you know that we are proud to be a Carbon Neutral business and take sustainability seriously?
We recycle as much of our waste as possible. In fact, 99.2% of the rubbish we generate has avoided landfill over the past three months and we do what we can to recycle and reuse as much as possible.
But in addition to the steps we take within our showroom to avoid negatively impacting the environment, we also pay a monthly fee to Carbon Neutral Britain to offset the carbon emissions created by our company.
This fee goes towards a number of projects, and today, we’d like to highlight one quite local to us in the Forest of Marston Vale.
The Forest of Marston Vale is the 61 square miles between Bedford and Milton Keynes and once upon a time, it featured massive pits throughout the countryside which were there to supply Stewartby Brickworks with clay – many of these were then filled with waste and became landfill. Tree cover was a just 3% – a third of the national average at the time.
But then along came the Forest of Marston Vale Charity who have now planted over 2 million trees transforming the landscape and improving the prospects of Marston Vale.
The Charity’s ultimate goal is 30% tree cover across the Forest and that means planting another 5 million trees.
We are committed to planting at least 20 trees a month to help this project, and others like it, do their best to combat the harmful effects of climate change.
So you can be sure that when you work with us, your wedding stationery will not be harming the environment.
