They say that falling in love is a chemical reaction in the brain! Science was most certainly at the heart of this couple’s story. They met at university; with Brett reading biochemistry and Rebecca genetics. They of course felt this needed to be part of their wedding… in the classiest of ways, of course.
Sometimes the best proposals are the ones that literally come from apparently nowhere. I love a non-typical style, and Brett proposed to Rebecca after a night out with friends on a long walk back to their home; in the early hours of the morning. Freezing cold, tired and a bit hungry they were making light of their situation; and Rebecca commented on how the icy street sparkled like diamonds. At which point Brett dropped to one knee (next to a speeding camera near an industrial estate), pulled out a diamond ring and asked Rebecca to marry him! He had been waiting for the right moment for a while and felt this was the perfect time! They left the following week for a Christmas holiday in the Caribbean; only telling people of their engagement when they returned home.

The nature of their theme meant that a bespoke consultation with us was paramount. Designing this stationery with Brett and Rebecca was a real joy. Ideas were shared and the outcome was fantastically bespoke to them; and perhaps one of the most unique, yet beautiful wedding stationery to date! A beautiful pink and white with a ‘science’ theme running through the images and content.
A lot of the grooms worry about the stationery being too fussy with ‘bits’ of glitter flying everywhere. The ‘cheque-book’ style suited all of their wishes, with gorgeous ribbon and definitely no bits flying anywhere! A subtle molecule pattern was incorporated to represent the structure of DNA. I can’t think of anything more romantic and appropriate for two people uniting as one.
The power of stationery is never to be underestimated. It is the first glimpse one sees of a forthcoming wedding and the very important point of contact for all aspects of information for the guests.
Referred to and often kept forever… stationery has to ‘work’ extremely hard for a couple and the wedding day. This theme and stationery matched, coordinated and helped the guests understand the day’s timings in such a unique and beautiful way.

One of the most unusual aspects of their ‘on the day’ stationery was the remarkable amount of work put in by the couple by incorporating an element from the periodic table into each guest’s name, on their place cards.
The couple debated long and hard about their top ten scientists; and made each one a table name! Genius…
We were so pleased Rebecca and Brett had such fun designing their stationery with us. We are passionate about weddings, our couples and going above and beyond to fulfil their dreams really makes us so excited and happy… We were also so happy that the couple felt the process was fantastic and excellent value.
Rebecca’s most excellent piece of advice was to ask the time at various points during the wedding day. They now have specific memories of what they were doing at these various points! It’s all too easy for the day to go like a blur; so this is such a powerful tip!
Brett’s advice would be to not write the speech the day before the wedding and to keep your mother in law happy! Something we should all live our lives by, surely!
